Day 6 - Thursday - Workshops for East African film makers

ZIFF believes strongly it has a responsibility to encourage and promote the next generation of East African film makers to be the best they can be.

This year we are holding three workshops for a selected group of young filmmakers and journalists from the region.

We are delighted to welcome Jonathon Dockney, from South Africa, who kicked off the sessions with a cutting edge workshop about cellphilmmaking – making films on your cell phone. Today we have multi-award winning documentary legend, Connie Fields, who is conducting a documentary production workshop. And tomorrow is the Production Links – Sweden workshop led by Caroline Kamya (Director of Imani), Jan Marnell (Associate Producer) and CinemaAfrica who will talk about how African film makers can access funds and support outside their own countries in order to realize their projects. Caroline and Jan will also talk about their direct experience of collaborating on Imani.

We also have a great raft of films today, including Tunahaki, Inside Life and The Other Side of Eldorado in the Old Fort.

And we kick off another night of great music with Zimbabwean group Bongo Love!
