iThemba (Jamaica/USA)

Imagine a country where food is available only on the black market and more people die of AIDS and lack of medical care weekly than are killed in Iraq or Darfur. Where hospitals operate without doctors and neighborhoods go months
without water. Then imagine navigating that country from a wheelchair in a culture where the disabled are seen as cursed. But iThemba isn't another demoralizing African documentary. It's a poignant, funny narrative about a group of young people who began as the Zimbabwean equivalent of a garage band and with grit and biting humor have built a following in their collapsing country.
