East African Video Music Award – ZIFF 2018

The Zanzibar International Film Festival, and East Africa’s No: 1 music video channel TRACE Mziki have announced the 2018 East African Music Video Award as part of a presentation at the Africa Hub at the Berlinale in Germany.  Building on the success of the first edition of this award that saw dozens of entries compete for the coveted title that was ultimately taken home by Eddy Kenzo of Uganda, the 2018 version promises to be even more exciting.

The award for best video will not only celebrate East African artists with the vision to create quality music videos, but also the behind-the-scenes teams that make these videos possible. For a number of years, ZIFF has recognized that music videos are, in fact, short films and should be treated as such within the confines of the film festival.

All East African artists, as well as video producers and directors are encouraged to submit their videos via the submission form on www.ziff.or.tz in the section East African Video Music Competition and then send the form and your video link to videos@ziff.or.tz

The deadline for submission is 30th May 2018
Please note: Videos must be for an East African artist and must have been created in 2017 or after.
